ASIST
(Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a suicide first-aid intervention model for anyone who wants to learn life-saving skills. It can be incorporated into a more formal, professional helping roles. During the course of this two-day workshop, ASIST participants will learn to:

• Understand the ways personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and intervention.

• •Provide guidance and suicide first-aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs

• Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to implement it

• Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the community at large

• Recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention including life-promotion and self-care

We offer ASIST in-person in Northeast Florida. Virtual trainings are not available for ASIST.

ASIST is provided in-person over 2 consecutive 8-hour days.

We offer in-person ASIST trainings across Northeast Florida.

The simple answer is everyone. In short, the more people trained in ASIST, the more lives saved.

Private trainings are subject to trainer availability. We do our best to accommodate all requests.

The hosting individual/organization will be required to provide 2-3 training rooms to accommodate all learners and with access to technology (Large TV w/HDMI cord or Projector with speakers).
